The Jaguar XKD, or D-type, dominated Le Mans in the mid-’50s, with three consecutive victories culminating in 1957. The sixth-place car that year was another D-type, the XKD 505/601, and it is now a part of Mr. Lauren’s personal collection. This 1:18 scale model of that historic automobile captures the striking aviation-inspired design that allowed the D-type to claim the title of fastest race car of the ’50s. Every detail of Mr. Lauren's personal vehicle has undergone a detailed scan to produce this exact replica, which is hand-constructed by the British-based Amalgam company.
